HAM AND CHEESE OMELETTE

Are you in a hurry to fix a breakfast but still need to fix something for your hubby and kids? Then here is a very easy and fast breakfast recipe: ham and cheese omelette. This is a dish of fried beaten eggs filled with ham and cheese. If you know how to cook or fry eggs then this will be very easy for you. You can vary the fillings according to your preference. I usually make omelettes from left over meat, bacon, some veggies like spinach, mushroom. You can put any filling you like. This recipe will be using ham and cheese.

PICO DE GALLO

Pico de gallo is a Mexican salad, or sometimes called salsa fresca. It is made of fresh condiments like tomatoes, onions, chilis (jalapeno), and sometimes added with more ingredients like cilantro, lime or lemon juice, cucumber, etc. I really love this salsa, it goes very well with grilled foods, fried foods, hamburgers, and can be use in tacos and fajitas. You should use fresh ingredients because it adds more to the flavor and taste. It just tastes better using fresh ingredients. You can just vary the amount of chile (jalapeno) on it. If you're not into spicy stuff then you can either omit the chile or just add a little bit of it. You can also get the seeds out of the jalapeno, because the seeds add to the level of spiciness. This is just very easy to make and no hassle at all, especially if you like chopping veggies finely, haha.

CLASSIC YEMA or MILK CANDY

I was craving Yema these past few days. I remember when I
was in elementary and high school, I used to buy Yema from my
classmates. It is so addictive. You can't stop eating it. I don't know what makes it so addictive, must be the milk. My classmates sell it for .50 cents before, ha ha, now I don't know how much one cost. I remember using my whole allowance to buy it. Anyway, that's enough reminiscing, ha ha. So going back to my craving, since I don't know how to make it, I asked my cousin how to make it. She told me the procedure how to do it
and I made it yesterday. I'm so glad it came out really
good and perfect. Not too hard and not too soft either, just perfect. My son and hubby can't stop eating it. So my craving was satisfied.

Anyway for those who don't know what Yema is, it is a sweet
concoction made of milk and sugar, which is from the classic recipe. But nowadays, yema has already evolved and more ingredients are added. But I still like the classic recipe, which I will be sharing now with you. It is not so complicated to make. It is very easy, and does not need a lot of ingredients. The closest taste you can compare it with are caramel candies. Though, I guess here in the US these are really called caramel candies. The slight difference will be the kind of milk being used. And these are not so dense and as hard as caramels. So for those who are yema lovers, here is a recipe for you. Please leave a comment if you like it. Thanks!

PILLSBURY CRESCENT WITH SUGARED CREAM CHEESE

Do you like to have fresh bread but don't know how to make your own dough? Don't worry, you can buy Pillsbury dough in grocery stores and bake it at home. I don't know how to make a dough also, so what I do is to just buy those ready made doughs in stores.(But I will try to learn how to make a dough one of these days). Anyway, the crescent dough I am using in this recipe is from Pillsbury. I just added the cream cheese to make it extra special.

I got this recipe or idea from my Mother in-law, thanks to her. She made this Crescent with cream cheese one time and she let us taste it. I loved it and also my husband, so I asked her how she made it. She taught me how, so now I'm sharing it to you, too. This is just very easy and doesn't take too long to bake. So enjoy!

HOMEMADE BURRITO RECIPE

Burrito is a Mexican dish which has a filling of either meat, veggies, rice, etc and wrapped in a flour tortilla. You can actually just make different kinds of filling according to your preference. Here, I am using hash browns or shredded frozen potatoes, some bacon, scrambled eggs, and chopped roasted green chile. I usually make these in big batches and just wrap it in clear plastic wrap and then freeze it. When you need to eat it, then just pop it in the microwave for a minute or so and then you have a warm burrito! This taste better too, if you drizzle it with Green Enchilada Sauce.

Pinsec Frito or Fried Wonton

I remember when I was in high school in the Philippines, that whenever I don't have a class, I stayed at my cousin's boarding house. And sometimes my cousin, Ramel, will treat me and some of his friends to eat pinsec and pizza. The first time I had the pinsec, I already loved the taste especially when you dip it into a sweet and sour sauce. It almost has the same taste as lumpia or egg rolls (if you make the same filling and just wrap it like a lumpia), although the way you wrap the filling is different. Pinsec is wrapped in a small square sized wrapper and will look like a triangle shape after it's done.

So when I came here in the US, I missed eating pinsec, so I tried to look around for some recipes and then vary the ingredients according to my taste. Here is my recipe for pinsec:
