Albuquerque International Balloon Fiesta

Finally bought our tickets for the Albuquerque International +Balloon Fiesta! We went last year, and this year the kids want to go back again. I was having doubts of going again, since I am very lazy to get up early morning. But for the kids' sake, I guess I don't have a choice.

The +Albuquerque International Balloon Fiesta is a festival of hot air balloons held every year here in New Mexico during fall. Usually first or second week of October. It runs for nine days. This year they started last October 4 and it will end on October 12. This event is the largest hot air balloon festival in the world, with about 750 hot air balloons from around the world. The kids are especially excited to go tomorrow because it will be the Special Shape Rodeo. Special Shape Rodeo is when there are all the different shapes of hot air balloons aside from the usual tear drop one. Last year, we saw a lot of special shapes. It ranges from Hugging Bees, Flowers, Treasures of the Sea, Elvis Presley, Darth Vader, and many more. The kids, especially my son, is so amazed when he saw the balloons being blown up, up close. We get to meet a lot of people from different places and from other parts of the world, too. Last year, we meet two couples, one from Germany and the other from Austria. They said they just came here to see the balloon fiesta.

Now, thinking about it, I am getting excited, too. I am looking forward to that Huge Burrito they sold last year. It was soooo good!!! Hope they will be there again this year. That's also the other fun part of this festival, not only you get your eyes full from the beautiful scenery but also your tummy full from all the good food being sold.
